In 2011 Diamandis started recording her second studio album, which was going to be released in April 30th, 2012. At first Marina started to write songs about feminism and the role women play in society, but after awhile she changed her mind. The album was going to be called "Electra Heart". Couple of the songs from the album got leaked, but that didn't disturd Marina. She released the album and told that she was starting her second tour, "Lonely Hearts Club Tour" which took from Europe to U.S.

Electra Heart got a lot of criticism, but Marina's fans were very pleased about the album. It went #1 on UK Album Charts and #32 on the Billboard 200.
